Mad Cow Disease & Human Health: Understanding BSE and CJD

There is currently no evidence that mad cow disease (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy -BSE) can be transmitted to humans. The similar but distinct human variant of this condition is called Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD).
