How to Cure Fungi on Your Body
Bacteria and fungi are always present on your body, but sometimes these microorganisms can cause infections. Symptoms of a fungal infection include red, itchy, scaly or swollen skin. Most fungal infections on the skin are not dangerous and can be treated with over-the-counter creams. Persistent fungal infections and scalp infections may require oral anti-fungal pills.Things You'll Need
- Anti-fungal cream
Instructions
See a doctor if you have a fungal infection on your scalp or beard, which can cause hair loss, or if your fungal infection exhibits signs of a bacterial infection like red streaking, discharge or fever.
Apply an anti-fungal cream to the affected area according to the instructions on the package.
Keep the affected area clean and dry. For example, if you have a fungal infection on your feet, dry your feet completely and wear clean, dry socks.
Wash your sheets and pajamas every day.
Treat your pets if they have become infected. Bald spots on a pet may indicate a fungal infection.
See a doctor if your infection has not cleared up after four weeks of self-treatment.
