Autoimmune Disease Prevalence in the US: 23.5 Million Affected

Approximately 23.5 million Americans, or about 7% of the population, are affected by an autoimmune disease. Autoimmune disorders are a group of conditions in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks its own tissues, leading to inflammation and damage to the affected organs. Some common autoimmune disorders include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, and type 1 diabetes.
