Trichomoniasis Treatment: A 2-Day Metronidazole Regimen

The one-day treatment for trichomoniasis is a single 2-gram dose of metronidazole. In cases where the patient vomits within one hour of taking the dose, the dose should be repeated. Partners of infected patients should also be treated with a single 2-gram dose of metronidazole; they should not have intercourse with the patient until after they have completed treatment.
