Understanding HIV/AIDS: Symptoms, Transmission, and Testing

There is no way to know if you have AIDS just by looking at someone. AIDS is a condition caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). HIV can be transmitted through sexual contact, sharing needles, or from an infected mother to her baby. The only way to know if you have HIV is to get tested. HIV testing is available at most doctor's offices and health clinics.
