HIV Survival Outside the Body: Razor & Needle Risks Explained
HIV cannot survive outside of the human body for very long. On razors and needles, it is unlikely to survive for more than a few minutes to a few hours at most, depending on the environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity. The virus is fragile and susceptible to drying out and degradation.Additionally, the amount of virus present on a razor or needle after a single use is likely to be very small, further reducing the risk of transmission.
