Hemoglobin is not found in the stratum corneum. Hemoglobin is an iron-containing oxygen-transport metalloprotein found in red blood cells. The stratum corneum is the outermost layer of the epidermis, the skin's outermost layer, and is composed primarily of dead skin cells (corneocytes) and lipids.
