1. The pulmonary artery carries deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs and the pulmonary vein carries oxygenated blood from lungs back to the heart.
2. The umbilical artery carries oxygenated blood from the placenta to the fetus, while the umbilical vein carries deoxygenated blood from the fetus to the placenta.
