What is haemocromotosis?
Hemochromatosis also known as genetic hemochromatosis, primary hemochromatosis and hereditary hemochromatosis, is a genetic disorder characterised by increased absorption of iron from food, resulting in accumulation of iron in many tissues mainly liver, joints, heart and endocrine organs which leads to cell damage.
Signs and symptoms:
- Fatigue
- Abdominal pain
- Weakness
- Nausea
- vomiting
- Dark skin colouration
- Diabetes
- Joint pain
- Liver damage
- Heart conditions
- Reduced libido
- Loss of body hair.
