Understanding Hemophilia: A Sex-Linked Genetic Disorder
Hemophilia is a sex-linked recessive trait. This means that the gene responsible for hemophilia is located on the X chromosome, one of the two sex chromosomes. Males are more commonly affected by hemophilia because they only have one X chromosome, while females have two X chromosomes. In order for a female to be affected by hemophilia, she must inherit two copies of the hemophilia gene, one from each parent.Hemorrhage - Related Articles
