Understanding Fever: How Thermometers Measure Body Temperature

A liquid thermometer does not show that you have a fever. A clinical thermometer measures body temperature, and a fever is diagnosed based on the temperature reading compared to normal body temperature. A liquid thermometer may show a higher temperature than normal, indicating a fever.
