Cardiac Fibrillation
- Irregular, rapid electrical signals of the upper chambers of the heart's (atria) disrupt normal contractions causing the heart to be ineffective in pumping blood
- Can be intermittent, lasting a few seconds or minutes (paroxysmal) or continuous (persistent or permanent)
- Most common type is atrial fibrillation (a-fib)
