Global Heart Attack Mortality: Statistics & WHO Data

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cardiovascular diseases, including heart attacks, stroke and heart failure, are the leading cause of death globally. In 2019, an estimated 17.9 million people died from cardiovascular diseases, of which 85% were due to heart attacks and strokes. This means that, on average, around 18.6 million people die from heart attacks each year.
