How to Build a Laser Comb
Hair loss is something that affects millions of men each year. A laser comb has been touted as an effective and non-invasive treatment for stimulating the hair follicles to encourage growth. Building your own laser comb will save a great deal of money as well as providing a sense of accomplishment that will encourage you to use the laser comb on a regular basis. Hair growth may or not occur but at least you will be doing something about the problem.Things You'll Need
- Cloth
- 6 5mW 650nm green laser diodes
- Tweezers
- 6 laser housings
- Soldering iron
- Solder
- Table tennis paddle
- 6 6 inch inch black wire
- 6 6 inch inch red wire
- Wire strippers
- Electrical tape
- "D" cell battery compartment
- "D" cell batteries
- Bonding glue
Instructions
Preparing the laser diodes
Put the cloth down on a work surface. Twist open a laser housing and put the front half of the laser housing down on the cloth.
Hold the back half of the laser housing straight up. Remove the exposed laser diode using the tweezers. Insert a 5mW 650nm green laser diode into the vacated space where the original laser diode was removed.
Strip the insulation off of both ends of the black and red wires using the wire strippers.
Heat up the soldering iron. Solder a black wire to the positive contact of the laser diode and a red wire to the negative contact of the laser diode.
Run the two wires through the front half of the laser housing. Screw the front half of the laser housing back onto the back half of the laser housing.
Take the five remaining laser housings and repeat the process of unscrewing them, removing the laser diode and replacing them with a 5mW 650nm green laser diode, soldering on the black and red wires and closing the laser housings back up.
Making the laser brush
Place the table tennis paddle down on the cloth.
Glue each of the six laser housings in a small circle on the mat area of the table tennis paddle using the bonding glue. Let the glue set.
Solder a black wire from each of the laser housings to the positive contact on the "D" cell battery compartment. Solder a red wire from each of the laser housings to the negative contact on the "D" cell battery compartment.
Attach the "D" cell battery compartment to the handle of the table tennis paddle using electrical tape.
Insert "D" cell batteries into the battery compartment to light up the green laser diodes.
Pick up the laser hair comb and slowly move it back and forth over your hair starting from the part in the hair and then returning back to the part.
Continue using the laser comb for up to 5 minutes. Remove the "D" cell batteries from the battery compartment to turn off the laser comb.
