How to Apply Root Stimulator
Hair loss affects both men and women, and can ruin self-confidence. That can cause low self-esteem and even depression. Hair loss has many causes--and many products claim to regrow hair. One such popular item is a "root stimulator," which can come in a lotion, shampoo or balm.
Instructions
Seek a diagnosis from a dermatologist or your family physician before you buy products to halt hair loss. A serious, underlying illness, such as lupus or diabetes, could be causing the problem. Poor diet and hormonal changes also are potential causes. If your medical provider rules out all of these, ask if he can recommend a hair root stimulator from among the many products on the market.
Once you choose and purchase a product, read the directions carefully. Some stimulators should only touch the scalp. If those products touch any other skin, such as your forehead, they can produce burning, discoloration or possibly unwanted hair growth. Use these products in the shower to avoid exposure to clothing or carpet.
Use the amount specified in the directions--usually a little bit no larger than a quarter. Pour the stimulator into the palm of your hand, or squirt it directly onto the crown of your head. Using your fingers, gently massage the liquid into your scalp in the affected areas where you are attempting hair regrowth. Leave the product on your head and comb through your hair from the scalp to the ends. Do not rinse your hair unless the product label advises you to do so. Repeat use as directed.
