Hair follicle drug testing is not affected by hair dye. This is because hair dye only interacts with the outside of the hair shaft and does not penetrate the follicle, where drugs are stored. However, if the drug is applied directly to the scalp, it can be absorbed into the hair follicles and be detectable in a hair test.
