Gonorrhea and Pregnancy: Risks and Testing

Gonorrhea does not affect a woman's ability to become pregnant. However, gonorrhea can cause serious complications during pregnancy, including premature birth, low birth weight, and eye infections in newborns. It's important for pregnant women to be tested for gonorrhea and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) early in pregnancy and to receive treatment if necessary.
