Cystic Fibrosis: Understanding Contagion and Genetic Causes

Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disorder and not communicable. It is caused by mutations in the CFTR gene, which is responsible for the production of a protein that regulates the movement of salt and water in and out of cells.

Communicable diseases are spread from person to person through contact with an infected person or their bodily fluids. Non-communicable diseases, on the other hand, are not spread from person to person.
