Acute sinusitis- Usually resolves spontaneously or with antibiotics within 2–3 weeks
- Severe cases complicated by intracranial or orbital spread have a grave prognosis, although rare with the use of antibiotics
Chronic sinusitis
- Prognosis is generally good with medical management
- About 10% of cases require surgery
