Mayo's abdominal retractor is an obstetrical instrument that consists of a blunt hook which is used for the retraction of the abdominal walls during an obstetrical surgery to expose the abdominal contents. It is used to protect the pelvic structures during episiotomy and forceps rotation for the delivery of the fetal head.
