Glycosuria: Understanding Glucose in Urine and Diabetes
Glycosuria
Glycosuria is the presence of glucose in the urine. It is commonly due to diabetes, a condition in which the body does not produce enough insulin or does not use insulin well, leading to high blood sugar levels. When blood sugar levels are too high, the kidneys cannot reabsorb all of the glucose from the urine, resulting in glycosuria.
