Monoclonal Antibodies and Juvenile Diabetes Diagnosis: What You Need to Know
Monoclonal antibodies are used in the diagnosis of various diseases, including diabetes, but it is not specifically used for the diagnosis of juvenile diabetes (also known as type 1 diabetes).
In the case of type 1 diabetes, diagnosis typically involves blood tests to measure blood glucose levels and the presence of autoantibodies associated with the disease, such as islet cell antibodies (ICA) or glutamic acid decarboxylase antibodies (GADA). Genetic testing may also be performed to identify specific genetic markers linked to an increased risk of developing type 1 diabetes.
