Asian Flu Symptoms & Treatment: Relief and Management
There is no specific cure for the Asian flu. Treatment is focused on relieving symptoms and preventing complications:
Rest: Get plenty of rest to allow your body to heal.
Fluids: Drink plenty of fluids, such as water, juice, and soup, to stay hydrated.
Pain relievers: Take over-the-counter pain relievers, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, to relieve pain and fever.
Antiviral medications: In some cases, your doctor may prescribe antiviral medications, such as oseltamivir (Tamiflu) or zanamivir (Relenza), to reduce the severity and duration of the flu. These medications are most effective when started within the first 48 hours of symptoms.
Seek medical attention: If your symptoms are severe or if you are at high risk for complications, such as the elderly, young children, or people with chronic health conditions, seek medical attention.
