Septic MRSA: Understanding the Risks and Treatment
Septic means having or caused by the presence of harmful microorganisms or their toxins in the circulatory system, especially as a result of infection elsewhere in the body.
Methicillin-resistant _Staphylococcus aureus_ (MRSA) strains are resistant to commonly used antibiotics, and this can make infections difficult to treat.
Septic MRSA therefore means a systemic MRSA infection with the causative bacteria in the blood and infecting deep seated tissues.
