Pulmonary arteries:

* Have thinner walls than pulmonary veins.
* Are located in the hilum of the lungs.
Pulmonary veins:
* Carry oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart.
* Have thicker walls than pulmonary arteries.
* Are located on the surface of the lungs.
