Guzunda: Exploring the Extinct Australian Marsupial 'Mouse'
A guzunda is an extinct genus of marsupial "mice" belonging to the family Dasyuridae and related to the kowari. It formerly occurred across Southern Australia. The last confirmed sighting was in 1901.
The animal was roughly the size of a house mouse, with soft, grey-brown fur above, merging to white fur on the underside. It had a thin tail longer than its body length. The tail was grey above, white below, with a small brush at the end.
