What are the contraindications of tympanic thermometers?

Tympanic thermometers are not recommended in the following cases:

- Perforated eardrum

- Recent ear surgery of the same side

- Active ear drainage

- Active otitis media

- Malformed pinna

- Blocked ear canal

- Active otitis externa
