Understanding Bone Movement: Muscles, Tendons & Joints

Bones move because of the coordinated action of muscles, tendons, and joints. When a muscle contracts, it pulls on the tendons that are attached to the bone, causing it to move. Joints, which are the points where two or more bones come together, allow for smooth and controlled movement of the bones.
