Which bones make up your knuckle?
Your knuckle is made up of three bones: the proximal phalanx, the intermediate phalanx, and the distal phalanx.
- The proximal phalanx is the bone closest to the palm of your hand.
- The intermediate phalanx is the middle bone of the finger.
- The distal phalanx is the bone at the tip of your finger.
These three bones are connected by joints called interphalangeal joints. The interphalangeal joints allow your fingers to bend and straighten.
