AB Blood Type: Who Can Donate to and Receive From AB?
A person with type AB blood cannot give to someone with type B blood. A person with type AB blood has both A and B antigens on their red blood cells, while a person with type B blood only has B antigens. If a person with type AB blood donated to a person with type B blood, the recipient's immune system would attack the A antigens on the donated red blood cells, causing a transfusion reaction.Blood Disorders - Related Articles
