Remington MSC 100/MS2-100 Razor Care & Maintenance
The Remington MSC 100 was a hand-held electric razor made by Remington that was discontinued and has since been replaced by the MS2-100 which is comparable in design, function and usability. The MS2-100 uses rotating cutters to trim your facial hair. Proper care of your Remington shaver will help it last longer. Remington does suggest cleaning the cutters from time to time. and ultimately replacing the cutters when they go bad. Remington recommends replacing the cutters and screen, however, if you have a small hand file, you can sharpen the cutters temporarily until you are able to get tp the store to buy a replacement cutter.Things You'll Need
- toothbrush
- machine oil
- small hand file (or coffee cup)
- replacement foil and cutters
Instructions
Turn your trimmer to the off position and make sure it is not plugged into the wall charger.
Set the controller to trimmer setting "3" which is the highest setting.
Use an old toothbrush to first clean away all the hair.
Apply a drop of machine oil along the foil cover of the blade. If this does not help improve the cut of the shaver, proceed to the next step.
Hold the shaver and grasp the foil assembly positioned over the cutters at the middle and then pull forward and up on the foil assembly. This will remove the foil and expose the cutters.
Turn the trimmer back on and allow the cutters to rotate. As they do, hold either a sharpening file or the flat end of a ceramic coffee cup against the blades
