History of Anorexia Nervosa Classification: A Brief Overview
Anorexia nervosa was first classified in the mid-19th century by two French physicians, Charles Lasègue and Louis Victor Marcé. Lasègue coined the term "anorexia hysterica" in 1873, while Marcé used the term "anorexie mentale" in 1859. Both physicians described the condition as a mental disorder characterized by loss of appetite, weight loss, and a distorted body image.Anorexia - Related Articles
