What are the symptoms of aortic dissection?
Common symptoms
* Sudden chest pain that is sharp and tearing, may radiate to the back and down the arms, neck or jaw
* Fainting
* Nausea and vomiting
* Increased heart rate
* Difficulty breathing
* Profuse sweating
* Pale or bluish skin
* Sudden loss of consciousness
Additional symptoms
* Hoarseness
* Difficulty speaking
* Weakness or paralysis on one side of the body
* Stroke-like symptoms, such as confusion, memory loss and vision changes
* Severe headaches
