Should you perform spirometry on pneumothorax patients?
Spirometry should not be performed on pneumothorax patients. Spirometry involves forced exhalation, which can increase intrathoracic pressure and worsen the pneumothorax. Patients with suspected or confirmed pneumothorax should undergo a chest X-ray and be closely monitored. Spirometry can be performed once the pneumothorax has been resolved and the patient is clinically stable.Aneurysm - Related Articles
