How to Unclog Ears Fast
Sinus congestion and allergies can play a role in plugged ears. But fortunately, there are ways to quickly relieve pressure and unclog ears.
Instructions
Take a steam shower. Spend 15 to 20 minutes in the shower, or run the water and sit in the bathroom to help unclog ear congestion.
Use a heated cloth. Put a wet hand towel in the microwave, and then place the cloth against the clogged ear. Steam from the cloth helps unclog ears.
Get your ears irrigated. Wax build-up contributes to ear congestion. Use OTC products to remove wax, or make a doctor's appointment to have your ears professionally irrigated.
Breathe hard. Close your mouth, plug your nose and breath hard to get rid of ear congestion.
Use gum. Chew gum to help unclog your ears.
Drink some water. Repeatedly swallowing helps clear ear congestion. Grab a glass of water, juice or other beverage to get rid of a clogged ear.
