Aerius (Fexofenadine): Dosage, Side Effects & Usage Guide
When a person comes into contact with allergens, their body produces histamine, which causes allergy symptoms like hives and watery eyes to appear. Aerius is a type of antihistamine, which blocks the histamine from producing adverse symptoms. The medication comes in both tablet and syrup form. It's important to take Aerius as recommended by the makers of the antihistamine.
Instructions
Tablet Form
Place one Aerius 5 mg tablet on your tongue.
Take a drink of water.
Swallow the pill with the water. Only take one pill a day.
Syrup
Pour 10 ml of Aerius syrup into a small measuring cup. This dosage is the appropriate amount for children and adults 12 years and older. Children 6 to 11 years old should receive only 5 ml of the syrup. Children 2-5 years old should receive only 2.5 ml of the syrup.
Swallow the syrup.
Repeat this once a day.
