Patient Allergic Reaction: Nursing Assistant Protocol & Action Steps
If the patient shows signs of an allergic reaction, the nursing assistant should follow the following steps:
1.Immediately inform the nurse
2.Stay with the patient and continue monitoring their condition
3.Administer oxygen, if prescribed.
4.Help the patient to a comfortable position
5.Cover the patient with a warm blanket
6.Assist with medication if necessary
