What is adenocarcinomia?
Adenocarcinoma is a type of cancer that starts in the glandular cells of the body. Glandular cells are found in many different organs and tissues, such as the lungs, breasts, pancreas, and colon. Adenocarcinomas can therefore occur in many different parts of the body.
Adenocarcinomas are typically slow-growing and have a relatively good prognosis. However, some types of adenocarcinomas, such as lung adenocarcinomas, can be very aggressive and difficult to treat.
The treatment of adenocarcinomas depends on the location of the tumor, the stage of the cancer, and the patient's overall health. Treatment may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and targeted therapy.
Adenocarcinomas are the most common type of cancer worldwide. In the United States, adenocarcinomas account for about 80% of all new cancer cases.
