LADA (Type 1.5 Diabetes): Understanding Autoimmune Insulin Deficiency

Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (LADA), also called Type 1.5 diabetes, is an autoimmune disorder characterized by the progressive destruction of pancreatic islet beta cells, leading to insulin deficiency. It shares features of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes but typically presents in adulthood with a slower onset than classic type 1 diabetes.
