Heart Location in the Chest: Understanding its Position Relative to the Lungs

The heart is not positioned between the lungs in the thoracic cavity. Instead, the heart is located in the centre of the chest cavity, medially between the lungs. The lungs are located on either side of the heart, and the heart is surrounded by the pericardium, a protective sac.
