Stage IA of cervical cancer is defined as follows in the FIGO staging system:* Invasive carcinoma confined to the cervix (extension to the corpus should be disregarded)
* No obvious clinical involvement of parametria, the lower third of the vagina, or pelvic side wall
* No obvious lymph node metastasis outside the cervix or paracervical region
* No distant metastasis
