A History of Ringworm: Ancient Origins & Evolution

The earliest known record of ringworm dates back to the 16th century BC, when the Egyptian Ebers Papyrus described a skin condition that was likely ringworm. The Greek physician Hippocrates also described ringworm in the 5th century BC, and the Roman physician Galen wrote about it in the 2nd century AD.
