Stingray Grouping: Understanding the Term 'Fever'

There is no such thing as a fever of stingrays. A group of stingrays is called a "fever" for the same reason that a group of rabbits is called a "herd" - there is no real logic or scientific basis for the name, it's just a traditional term that has been used for centuries.
