Laocoön and the Trojan Horse: The Story of Divine Punishment
The Trojan priest who was punished by the gods for his attempt to warn people against bringing into their city the wooden horse left by Greeks is Laocoön.
Laocoön, a Trojan priest of Apollo, tried to warn the Trojans against accepting a mysterious large wooden horse left outside their city by the Greeks, who were appearing to sail off, having failed to defeat Troy after a ten year siege. Laocoön suspected the Horse to be a trap, but the Trojans ignored him.
