Aqualung (SCUBA): How It Works & Components

An aqualung is a self-contained underwater breathing apparatus (SCUBA) that allows divers to breathe underwater. It consists of a compressed air tank, a regulator, a buoyancy compensator, and a mouthpiece. The compressed air tank contains air at high pressure, which is released through the regulator and passed to the diver's lungs. The buoyancy compensator helps the diver to control their buoyancy while underwater, and the mouthpiece allows the diver to breathe the compressed air.
