Abdomen:
-Pinch a large area of skin.
-Insert the needle at a 90-degree angle to the skin.
-Inject the liquid slowly.
Upper arm:
-Pinch the skin about 2 inches below the shoulder.
-Insert the needle at a 45-degree angle to the skin.
-Inject the liquid slowly.
Thigh:
-Pinch the skin about 2 inches below the hip bone.
-Insert the needle at a 45-degree angle to the skin.
-Inject the liquid slowly.
Buttocks:
-Choose the upper, outer quadrant of one buttock.
-Cleanse the area with an antiseptic wipe.
-Gently pinch the skin between your thumb and forefinger to form a tent.
-Insert the needle at a 90-degree angle into the base of the tent.
-Gently inject the medication into the subcutaneous tissue.
-Withdraw the needle and dispose of it in a sharps container.
