Alcohol Poisoning: Recognizing Symptoms and Taking Immediate Action

If someone is near death from alcohol, call 911 or go to the ER immediately.

While Waiting for Help

• Keep them awake and conscious if possible.
• If unconscious, place in recovery position (on side) to prevent choking.
• Do NOT give food or water.
• Stay with them until EMS arrives.

Alcohol poisoning is fatal if untreated. If you're concerned about someone's drinking, encourage them to seek help.
