How to Make Simple Herbal Shampoo
Conventional shampoos use a wide variety of chemicals. The toxicity of some of these ingredients and their affect on the body is heatedly debated by herbalists. An all-natural herbal shampoo contains none of these potentially toxic ingredients.Things You'll Need
- Large jar with lid
- 1 oz. peppermint
- 1 oz. nettles
- 1 oz. sage
- 1 oz. rosemary
- 4 cups distilled water
- 4000 mg methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) powder
- Strainer
- Bowl
- 2 plastic bottles (8 oz.)
- 8 oz. Castile soap
Instructions
In a large jar, combine the peppermint, nettles, sage and rosemary. Cover the jar and shake for 10 seconds.
Bring the distilled water to a boil. Add 6 tbsp. of the herb mixture. Take the boiling water off of the stove.
Allow the hot water and herb mixture to sit undisturbed for 30 minutes. Add the MSM and allow the mixture to sit undisturbed again for at least 30 minutes.
Strain the mixture--now a veritable herbal tea--into a clean bowl. Divide the tea into the 8 oz. plastic bottles. Add 4 oz. of Castile soap to each bottle.
Cap the bottles and shake well.
