Epsom Salt Compress: A Simple Guide for Pain Relief & Healing
Magnesium sulfate is often referred to as Epsom salt. Epsom salt is used as a health remedy for sprains and bruises. It can also be used to get splinters out, or to aid in the healing of an insect bite. Many people soak in a tub with Epsom salt, but it can also be used in a compress.Things You'll Need
- 2 cups hot water
- 2 cups Epsom salt
- Bowl
- Towel
Instructions
Pour the water into a bowl.
Add the Epsom salt and mix the two ingredients together. You want the Epsom salt to dissolve in the water.
Place a towel in the bowl and let it soak up the mixture.
Wring the towel out and place it over the bruise or insect bite.
Re-wet the compress every 10 minutes and reapply.
