DIY Nasal Saline Gel: Soothe Cold & Flu Symptoms Naturally
There is something reassuring about using a homemade remedy. While not advisable for major illnesses, when suffering from cold and flu symptoms a homemade nasal saline gel can help alleviate your suffering. Rather than relying on pharmaceutical companies you will know exactly what has gone into the remedy, and you will save yourself money in the meantime.Things You'll Need
- 1 qt. glass jar
- 1 qt. boiled or bottled water
- 2/3 tsp. non-iodized salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tbsp. corn syrup
Instructions
Wash the glass jar out thoroughly and fill it with the water.
Add the salt, baking soda and corn syrup to the water. Close the jar and shake to dissolve ingredients. You should always shake the jar before applying the gel.
Store the nasal gel in the refrigerator. Discard it after a week and make up a new batch, as the old one will have gone bad.
